Kali
Kali indeed. She and her maitraiyas make a good job of that self-cloning demon, by sucking every drop of blood that comes out of him. Her relationship with her husband is best explained by the following quote
“In relation to Shiva, she [Kali] appears to play the opposite role from that of Parvati. Parvati calms Shiva, counterbalancing his antisocial or destructive tendencies; she brings him within the sphere of domesticity and with her soft glances urges him to moderate the destructive aspects of his tandava dance. Kali is Shiva's "wife" as it were, provoking him and encouraging him in his mad, antisocial, disruptive habits. It is never Kali who tames Shiva, but Shiva who must calm Kali”.
Not surprisingly, she dances all over her husband, when she is enraged. And, when she realises that the poor man is being trampled under feet, she drops her tongue out in embarrassment !!
Also, have you heard of Sarah de kali? Saint Sarah, is a Christian saint in France worshipped by the Roma people, and apparently the practice of worship is similar to that of Kali. The Roma, also known as Romani or Gypsies, were thought to be a wandering tribe of the europe, till recent genetic analysis showed that they might have originated in Northern India more that 1500 years ago. So, it is postulated that they might have taken their worship practices and incorporated it onto another religious saint.
